Quoll Harimau[2] (Dasyurus maculatus), juga diketahui sebagai Quoll ekor bintik, Quoll bintik, Dasyure berekor bintik atau (dengan tidak tentu) Kucing Harimau, adalah mamalia marsupial karnivora, yang berasal dari Australia. Binatang ini merupakan marsupial karnivora terbesar di daratan Australia.

Taksonomi[sunting | sunting sumber]

Quoll Harimau adalah anggota familia Dasyuridae, yang mencakup banyak mamalia marsupalia karnivora. Binatang ini pertama disebutkan tahun 1792 oleh Robert Kerr, penulis dan penyidik alam Skotlandia, yang tidak tentu menempatkan binatang ini dalam genus Didelphis, yang mencakup beberapa spesies opossum Amerika. Nama spesies, maculatus, termasuk spesies berbintik.[3]

Dua subspesies yang dikenal:[3]

  • D. m. maculatus, ditemukan dari selatan Queensland ke selatan hingga Tasmania
  • D. m. gracilis, ditemukan di suatu populasi terisolir di Queensland utara, dimana binatang ini diklasifikasi sebagai Spesies terancam oleh Departemen Lingkungan dan Warisan Pusaka.
