Colton Dixon (lahir 19 Oktober 1991) adalah penyanyi Amerika Serikat asal Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Amerika Serikat. Ia merupakan salah satu finalis 13 besar dari American Idol Musim Kesebelas.[3]

Kehidupan awal[sunting | sunting sumber]

Colton Dixon terlahir sebagai Michael Colton Dixon pada tanggal 19 Oktober 1991,[4][5] dari pasangan Michael dan Teresa Dixon.[6] Ia lahir dan dibesarkan di sebuah keluarga kelas-menengah di Murfreesboro, Tennessee, bersama dengan adiknya, Schyler.[6][7] Ayahnya menjalankan usaha lukis wajah/air brush, dan keluarganya memiliki seekor anjing Jack Russell bernama Ozzy, dan kucing bernama Chloe.[6] Disamping menjadi anggota paduan suara selama sekolah menengah,[8] pada tahun 2008, ia menjadi pemeran ekstra selama pembuatan film "Hannah Montana: The Movie".[8][9] Ia lulus dari Middle Tennessee Christian School pada tahun 2010.[7] Ia adalah penganut Kristen yang taat,[10] dan telah bernyanyi pada berbagai pelayanan doa termasuk di Gereja Saddleback.[6] Ia dan Schyler adalah bagian dari band rock Kristen bernama Messenger.[1] Ia merilis album debutnya A Messenger dengan EMI-CMG/Sparrow Records pada 29 Januari 2013.[2][11] Musiknya dipengaruhi oleh beberapa musisi seperti Paramore, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Lifehouse, Evanescence, Switchfoot, Skillet, dan The Fray.[8]

Pada tahun 2012, Dixon mulai mengencani Annie Coggeshall. Mereka bertunangan pada September 2015, dan menikah pada 8 Januari 2016.[13] [14]
