English: View of the outside of the wall of Batavia from the Outer Portuguese Church. The bastion at the center is called Gelderland. To its right is Enkhuizen Bastion (circular bastion) and Rotterdam Bastion (the furthest visible circular bastion to the right). To the left of Gelderland bastion is the Oranje bastion (flanked in the picture between two shrubs), and the Nieuwpoort gate (connected with a bridge, the location of which is now Jalan Pintu Besar (Pintu Besar Street)). The entire buildings in this picture has been demolished, with the exception of the building where the painter stood (the Outer Portuguese Church, now Gereja Sion)
